Visit Assisi,
Umbria, Italy
It is my pleasure to announce our 39th Summer Composers Residence,
this year entitled INTERNATIONAL MUSIC DAYS in ASSISI (Umbria, Italy),
for the period of July 6-12, 2002.
As part of this project, we will have in residence the well known Italian
sextet, ENSEMBLE ASSISI MUSICA, consisting of:
Flute (also piccolo, alto and bass)
Oboe (also
English Horn)
Clarinet
(also piccolo Cl in Eb and Bass Cl)
Violin
Cello and
Piano
The group will present one or two concerts of participant composers.
Each composer will have one piece of his/her choice rehearsed and performed
in the historic town of Assisi.
Among the players of the ensemble, there are some really famous musicians,
such as clarinetist Guido Arbonelli, winner of the Gaudeamus Competition
of 2-3 years ago, oboist Andrea Franceschelli, director of the ensemble,
and director of several other ensembles, including the well known Perugia
Wind Ensemble, winner of many awards, to include the ANMC and INMC Awards
. Each performer is a true soloist.
